Temporal Analysis of the Dynamics of Beliefs, Desires, and Intentions

چکیده
In this paper a temporal trace language is defined in which statements can be expressed that provide an external temporal grounding of intentional notions. Justifying conditions are presented that formalise criteria that a (candidate) statement must satisfy in order to qualify as an external representation of a belief, desire or intention. Using these conditions, external representation statements for intentional notions can be identified. Using these external representations, anticipatory reasoning about intentional dynamics can be performed.

A temporal modelling environment for internally grounded beliefs, desires and intentions
In this paper the internal dynamics of mental states, in particular states based on beliefs, desires and intentions, is formalised using a temporal language. A software environment is presented that can be used to specify, simulate and analyse temporal dependencies between mental states in relation to traces of them. If also relevant data on internal physical states over time are available, the...

In this paper the internal dynamics of mental states based on beliefs, desires and intentions, is formalised using a temporal language. The use of a software environment to specify, simulate and analyse temporal dependencies between these intentional states in relation to behavioral traces is addressed.
متن کاملReasoning with Levels of Modalities in BDI Logic
Modelling real world problems using rational agents has been heavily investigated over the past two decades. BDI (Beliefs, Desires, and Intentions) Logic has been widely used to represent and reason about rational agency. However, in the real world, we often have to deal with different levels of confidence in the beliefs we hold, desires we have, and intentions that we commit to. This paper pro...
متن کاملReasoning from Desires to Intentions: A Dialectical Framework
Here, we define a framework where defeasible argumentation is used for reasoning about beliefs, desires and intentions. A dialectical filtering process is introduced to obtain a subset of the agent’s desires containing only those that are achievable in the current situation. Different agents types can be defined in the framework affecting the way in which current desires
